    Otter Buddy

This is a kit from Wildfire Designs. My first attempt at this kind of fusible art. I really enjoyed it. I did some fabric "painting" and quilting to it as well. He's just so darn cute! He's meant to be looked at from far away where the fabrics blend in together. It was such a pleasure creating this little buddy that I had to share it with you.

Thanks so much. I love how it captures the otter face. He's doing his thing, cracking shells, he looks up and he's like, What? I'm working here.

Your otter is really great! My dh loves otters so he would love this too! I have been doing the fusible patterns for a while now, off and on. Just finished "Wild Girl" which is one I have wanted to make for a long time. (Bigfork Bay Cotton Co. is no longer in existence so I was lucky to find it.) Next up is "Autumn Lady" by the same company. For some reason I really enjoy cutting out all the pieces and putting them together. I know it's not rocket science but I still enjoy doing it and especially like the results. You are right though, one does have to stand back a bit to really see the intended image better as the fabrics blend together. Hope you are going to hang this on a wall in your home since it is so great!

edited: I just went to look at the Wildfire Designs website. They have some great nature patterns. Thanks for putting me on to them.
