Our daughter's Law School Quilt - "Sunny Celebration"
#52
I just finished a quilt for our daughter, Alea, who will graduate from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law on Saturday! I named her quilt "Sunny Celebration", for the cheerful fabrics in the quilt (Heather Bailey, Freshcut), and also for the distinct milestone that we'll be celebrating with her this weekend. We're so proud of her, and of course, I wanted to make her a quilt remembrance of her hard work. I had not done a label before, so I think next time I'll make it and have it on before it's quilted, but this one works. We're so excited to see her celebrate her accomplishment! The quilt is a simple nine patch, starting with 8" blocks, then cut the sewn nine patch in quarters. Super simple, and I didn't use a pattern. The backing was just some large pieces I had on hand.
It is very very nice.

Congratulations to your daughter and the family. It's obvious your support has had quite a bit to do with her education. I wish her joy and success. The quilt is just lovely. I'm thinking it will be a wonderful keepsake for her.
