Default Out of my comfort zone

These 2 quilts are a little out of my comfort zone…meaning I had to follow a pattern. I have a rather short attention span and I get bored with patterns so I tend to stick with art quilts that I can take in any direction I like…sometimes that turns out fine…sometimes not so much. So, with these two I decided to be a ‘big girl’ and concentrate…. Low and behold, I enjoyed the process and the outcome!

Wow, you should feel really good about your work...beautiful quilting, I can only imagine the hours you spent you should be so happy to have accomplished these finishes. 😀

Very nice! I really like the sun images created by your quilting in the dark blue and the quilting in the white background on the cross! Still allowed for a lot of personal expression.

Those are both lovely. I especially like the sunburst quilting you did in the lone star.

You should be very proud of the outcome! They are beautifully done the quilting is so good the patterns are very nice. If this is outside your comfort zone I need to see more of what is inside of your comfort zone -

They both are exceptionally pretty! I have questions. Is the lone star border a print or is it the quilting showing on blue or gray ? I am on an IPhone so it hard to tell. The small strip of gold around the star really makes it pop, even as big as it is, defines it I guess I should say. I've not made a lone star but would love to. Is there one pattern easier than others?

The cross is another I'd like to try one day. I like the fabric you used on the cross itself, or is the design on it stitching? I like how you stitched the 'Rays' from the cross too.
I get bored too with some of the patterns we have for our QOV. I like the freedom I have to do what I want, esp around the panels. Some of the group don't like to do quilts with the panels so they have passed a few to me.
I say you did very well on both and I suppose I need to look, at any albums you have here, to see more of the artist in you.
