Well, I used my triangulations program (it is WONDERFUL!) and created 2" finished squares.
I vaguely remember measuring it, knowing this question was coming up, and ... well ... the block is supposed to be 12 1/2" square ... and, it is close, I am sure <g>
The last thing I remembered checking was: is there a 1/4" beyond the points at the edges? and, I think it was ...
I don't mean to sound like a blooming idiot, but I really am not a detail person and the little things usually escape me ... sorry ...

This is sooo funn (eee)!
DD younger came in with the mail and I turned from the puter to see this HUGE box and I asked who is that for?
you!
Is it from Spain? (wondering why it was a USPS priority mail box)
nope ...
so I explain about the exchanges, er, Round Robins.
the box is from Nanny
okay ...
so I think, well, the mail is here, maybe I will pretend I am an adult and go take care of the mail properly
so, I walk over, start going through the mail, and was doing a pretty good job of touching once and making a decision, and what should pop out but this big manila envelope, innocent looking thing, so I looked at it in a curious manner.
It is from COLLETTA!
surprise, surprise! LOL
I am scared to open it, but I wanted you to see the box my mommy sent to the cow camp!

FYI to all you lurkers and to The USA Stitchers....
the aliens kidnapped RuthCamp and sent an imposter...the imposter is remarkably identical to Ruth but for some unknown reason, she is going by the name of Know Sew...let's just hope the aliens remembered to include the quilting knowledge and talent when they chose Ruth's replacement!
:D
