I'm not sure...I like it like it is...very much. You could audition your corner design and let us see that, then we'd tell you. I love the design you've used Lori.

I colored a corner piece on paper and am showing it placed in the corner. If I did something like this, it would be in each of the four corners and made of the same blue bias that the sides are.

Ooh, that's a tough call. I really like what you've done, but this would be very nice also. I love the deep blue bias you used. Very pretty. I'm curious what Barbara thinks . . . .

I know this is a bit late, but how did you get the chairs to mimic the curve in the center? Beautiful workmanship

Well, here is Mareliba's with the 6" border. What do you think? I like it but I'm having second thoughts. I think that what I've added goes really well with what Barbara added before me, but is the center getting lost amid the bolder brighter colors? Should I change the red part of the border to a dark brown? I have to fix the whole thing as it's not completely square - I got the borders on a little too tight and so the rest puckers a bit. But I WILL fix that! Any changes anyone would recommend while I'm at it? I'm completely inexperienced with batiks and would really appreciate your input. Also, I'll be acting as a sub for our group and adding the 7" border on here next. Any suggestions as to what to do for that??

Jen, I like what you did, but you have a valid point about the center receeding...actually I think it is hiding amongst all the little 9 patch looking borders. Maybe you could try auditioning adding a pinwheel in each corner of the dark brown to pull them back out??? And maybe for the next border...somthing curvey?? or something featuring even more pinwheels to pull them back out?... On the whole, I think it looks wonderful!!!! I love this one!!!

I was thinking the same thing. I like the colors you have used for this border. Putting some pinwheels in the next border would tie it together and replay the theme of the center.
