I washed in Ivory soap and placed in clean ziplocks. No fabric softener.

Most came from my stash. I did buy some pretty fabrics over at Hobby Lobby when they went on sale. Wide range, little kids to teenager fabrics and designs.

Our group also washes the pillowcases with a mild detergent, no fabric softener, and then places them into baggies. Last year we made 2002 pillowcases, most were distributed through Con Kerr Cancer to hospital children's centers and many are distirbuted along with quilts through our guild's Community Outreach group to local churchs, food pantrys, woman's shelters, and other groups who have a need.
