I think it's lovely. As for the crinkling I think it might have been your thread if you used all-cotton and the quilt only crinkled along the sewing lines.

It's really cute. I love that you quilted it with "oink, moo, quack." My first thought with the wrinkling was more muslin shrinkage. If its the thread, that's frustrating because....you can't prewash thread, right??? I have a motto though. "Everything puckers in the wash "
