    Default Pink Elephant Baby Playtime

My nephew and his wife are having their first baby girl. (C-section July 1. Baby shower July 11.) I had purchased about 20 FQ's, plus some various 1/2 yard and yard pieces that screamed PINK to make something fun for a GIRL!!!

After I saw this post by knitwitrosie: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t247057.html I went to the Karie Patch Designs site and ordered my pattern http://www.kariepatch.com/store/WsDefault.asp?One=41. I decided to pull my fabrics that matched the little elephant print, using left over brown minky and pink Fairy Frost for the 3D twist pieces. Lucky for me, I had a perfect size of pink furry minky for the back. My free motion skills are still very amateur, but I was thrilled to try a new design, copying the quilting idea on Karie's pattern. I bound it in brown and topped the front binding in giant pink ric rack, laying it over the edge so the back also got a nice frame. It finished about 40" square. A couple of matching toys clipped on the twists completed the gift!!! It will reach Idaho in plenty of time for the baby shower. I hope they like it as much as I do!!!
