This is definitely not a beginner pattern. But I think you have done a wonderful job persevering on through to the end. Looks like you've learned a lot. You used some beautiful fabrics. And the best compliment of all, your seven year old is going to love it. They will not be looking for perfect. They will know how much you love them to make this beauty for them. I like it!

You really did pick a tough one to start your quilting career! But I'm sure it has taught you so much in the process, that you will love it forever. I made a sort of quilt for my grandson when he was 7. It is one of my favorites because I both discovered and learned so much! But if you look at it as critically as I do, it stinks!
Your blocks look super and I can't see anything wrong with it. About 6 months after you're done with it, you will look at it and see it's true beauty. Then you will be able to really enjoy it.

I am not a beginner and it would have been difficult to make a beautiful quilt such as this. I love the colors and the pattern in it. Keep on going, I have a feeling you are going to be an expert at quilting before too long.
