No kidding! Your free motion quilting is excellent. The colors won't let my eyes turn lose of them. There are so many things that make this piece so fabulous. Wow! Good for you. Good job. How did you say it "try my hand at FMQ", you did a great job.

What kind of embroidery machine do you have? The stitching on the border is cute.

What a great idea putting the original fabric in the quilt....I was at a quilt show last week and had suggested to one of the ladies that they hang a small piece of the original fabric along the side of the OBW quilts. People just don't realize what someone has accomplished from one piece of fabric to the finished project.
It's just beautiful.
I have bought my fabric..two or three times but have yet to set out on the journey of starting my OBW......still looking for that "super 60" ruler.....I do believe that one of the Joann's now has it.
Actually, I am not that sure of what it is.....I have found the 60 degree ruler but is the super 60 a diamond shape?
Thanks for any advice.........MaryJane

MJ - you can get it here online http://shop.online-quilting.com/shop...&category_id=2
It might seem like a lot for a ruler - but I paid twice that!

MJ, you can use any ruler that has a 60 degree angle. I don't have a special one, my regular ruler works perfectly well. While a special one would be nice, it really is not necessary. Good luck.

Hi MJ - I use the 60° Clearview Triangle as recommended in the book. It's important to get this one especially if you ever plan to do the hollow cubes as the directions are geared towards the markings on this ruler. In any case, I wouldn't recommend the Marti Mitchell type with the points cut off for OBWs - I bought one of those at first and it's a P in the A! If you can't get the Clearview at your local store, you should be able to get it online - that's how I got mine, from Switzerland would you believe! France is in the Dark Ages quilt shop wise! :D
