I use Singer machine oil on the finishes of my old Singer girls. I read about it in an old Singer ad, and it does a pretty nice job, not harsh on the decals and makes them really glow! I envy you that lovely 319, I have been looking for a nice 301 or 319 for a while now. (but the hunt is the fun part, right? LOL)

I have heard some really bad reviews of the machine, like the stitch regulators coming loose, and the hook assembly will start catching after you have used it for heavier material. Iwalked by a couple of them at a flea market in the Chinese treadles for $45 for the pair. I did notice that the treadles were flimsy and the drawers were very sloppy and these were new machines.
But I like the treadle that yours is in!

The machine make a beautiful cable-like stitch. I have used it often and actually did a complete flimsy on it! The head was in a terrible cabinet when I found it so I fit it into the New Home that I had downstairs in 'spare parts'. I haven't had any difficulty with it as yet and I have been using it for about 5 years now. It has been a lot of fun.
Thanks for identifying it for me, it was confusing trying to nail that one down.

HI JJ's
I had one of the #3. I sent it to Mexico with a friend who goes there every year to a lady at a poor village. I will be sending needles and threads this year to her. My friend told her a yer before , she ws still waiting when they got back the next year.
I know it is being well used.
I have a feather weight like #10
Also the old treddle of my husband grandmothers, now ours.
One of my first machines was like #7 the brown/tan singer
The first one was a $5.00 black garage sale machine. Got $50 trade on a newer Singer.... after I had used it for a couple of years. Fun to see these.
Thanks ConnieF
