I'm excited to see what your quilt will look like. I also want to make a postage stamp quilt but, will have to wait until after Christmas. I have a lot of quilts to finish before then.

After cutting block # 2957, I wonder if you will remember if you run across a duplicate fabric?? Will you cut ALL!!?? first and then start putting it together, or will you cut then sew, cut then sew??

I admire your determination and stamina. BTW, stock up on some BenGay while you are at it for your shoulder and arm.... Will be watching.

Your quilt will be stunning. I saw my first postage stamp quilt last year, and could not believe it. The lady had over 6,000 pieces and she got them from all over the world. Took her 3 years, but it was beautiful. I can't wait to see how your progresses. Please keep us posed!

Only 4500 pieces??? LOL --- careful --- this will turn into an addiction! The quilt in my avatar is made from postage stamp pieces, and there are 6,561 pieces in it, and its the smallest one I've made so far (81x81), and I've just finished one that is 10,000 pieces. Having to cut all the pieces for these projects, I highly recommend the June Tailor Shape Cut ruler; it has slots every half inch so you don't even have to think about it. Cut your strips, pick up the ruler, then cross cut them into squares. I will be watching your posts with interest...good luck!

This is really a fun and time consuming project. I have started one too but don't have near enough fabric to ever finish one of any good size!
