This practice sample was made to see if I could take a blank sheet and make a design out of it. I also wanted to use color thread and see if I was happy with my quilting.
Wow, are we living in parallel universes? Your FMQ practice posting sounds a bit like mine from a few months ago! http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...k-t209830.html I love the way yours turned out too!!! I found Karen Mctavish's "Elemental Quilting" and "Curved Crosshatching" books to be VERY helpful when I designed my first wholecloth quilt by the way. Here's a recent post about that quilt :-) http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t219960.html And yes, I use a Juki and LOVE it. I too tried out some longarms at a show last year and decided I like quilting on my Juki better!

Your practice piece is quite lovely and certainly worth hanging; I love the depth you created with your designs! Can't wait to see a wholecloth from you!!!

Like the other members here, I think your piece is amazing! What a beautiful result for your two days of sewing. So much talent, you must feel ever so good about the time spent on this project. Keep working on your beautiful art, like they say, time well spent!

Yes I took Cindy Needhams class on Craftsy. She is an amazing instructor!!!!!!!! Your piece azwendyg is awesome too!! I have the same Juki and it is amazing what my machine wants to sew now. Think my Juki was board with my old way of quilting. LOL's. Anyone who wants to advance their quilting should take her class. Cindy is just amazing. I am about to finish a sampler quilt that I would have never quilted the way I did if not for her class.
