My goal is to leave the earth owning very little fabric. I'm not buying more and shopping in my stash. I just turned 73 and my Dad passed at the age of 89 1/2.

Both are beautiful and to think that you will be making a third one. I can hardly wait to see the red one. I made a throw size with that pattern and liked it so much that I'm now in the process of making a queen size for myself. Almost wish that I had chosen a different colorway though...both are brown/blue.

Beautiful quilts...I especially like the green and purple as well. I hope the class will still hold your interest now that you have conquered two of them...

Wow, those are both wonderful.
A red one would be fantastic.

Can't wait to see what you do in the class.

jmoore, I felt I had failed miserably with that pieced border. You should have seen the mess I had. But my long-armer said she had time to quilt it before the class and get it back to me. That will hide the miriad of extra seams on the pieced border in the final push to tighten it up. Within 4 of the three inch (supposed to be) blocks I would have over half an inch extra.

When I sewed the main blocks there was a protocol of sew-fingerpress- let rest- then steam press. Even then I had a pile of rejects. But the pieced border did not get that treatment and was way off.

Thanks for your comments. M

They are beautiful quilts. You certainly mastered the patterns and will be the shining star in her class. Is this the class you were waiting to get a sign-up spot?

PS: It's great to be prepared for class.
