    Default Practice sandwich

I made my second practice sandwich. I decided to go a bit hard. I had an idea to use a china marker and regular painting stencil to try to do a quilt design. The concept is ok (to much stoping). It did show me that I'm getting better at doing shapes. However I'm still not very good at starting up and stopping.
Pictures of practice front and back. Along with a zoomed in of front and back.

attagirl! Pretty darned good for a 2nd try ...
Bet you have noticed improvements already from your 1st.

Suggestion ... get a quilt marker, or use chalk, rather than the china marker, that I'm pretty sure will not disappear. That way, you will feel better about making your practices pieces usable.

    Good Luck!

This is well done . You are much to hard on yourself. For a first time effort this is a great method and everything looks wonderful.

i think it looks pretty good. If you open up the petals, instead of closing each of them off, and you connect them too each other, then you don't have to make so many starts and stops, it will flow easier to have a more continuous line. play around with a pen and sketch book until you find something that you like.

It looks pretty good! The stopping and restarting gets better with practice. My restarting always “hopped” starting out until I got better with it.

You are already improving, way to go! Tailors chalk is easy to hold, marks well, & fills in templates & free-form sketches easily.
