Default Presentation

Hi Quilters! Here are some quilt given at a QOV presentation we had on the 13th and 22nd.
Seven of these you may recognize as tops I pieced. All the ones in the first picture and the two on the right of the second picture I pieced and Lynn quilted all but two. Sharon quilted one and I quilted one so a joint project for all. Love our Veterans!

Thank you for all you do for those that sacrifice so much. Do they get to pick their quilts?

You do such lovely gracious work. Stand up and be proud of yourself, not just the veterans who are so deserving of recognition for their service.

I going to say no, they don’t get to choose, because I embroider their labels and sew them on ahead, of the presentation day. However, when I have more than a few quilts completed, three times I have asked the family if they’d like to choose, but two have said too hard to choose and they have still left it up to me. However, one guy’s wife did choose his. Not in these groups though. If I know the vet personally, I try to match what I believe he’d like. We tend to think the panel quilts are for the younger guy, but I said that’s not always the case. My cousin liked the panels and so I designed his myself, with flags and stars and he loved it. He didn’t choose but just stated he liked the panels. Sadly, he only had it a short time, before he passed away with cancer. I was told he kept it on his sofa so I’m assuming he used it.
I fell in love with quilting 3 years ago so I love making and giving to veterans that have given so much to us. I feel it’s the least I can do and besides… I’m having fun too-Have a nice day! Toogie

Take a bow! The photos show how rewarding your work for the veterans is by the pride seen in the faces of the veterans.
Thank you for posting the wonderful photos.
