I finished up the strip quilt that I was making for my youngest daughter, Olivia, today. It was made from a jelly roll of the "Dandelion Girl" fabric line by the Fig Tree Quilts designer. It measures 65" x 76" and I did a pantograph quilting pattern on it called "Chantilly Lace". The blue border fabric is some that I found at Marshall's and is called "Mary Rose" by Quilt Gate. The backing fabric is by David Textiles.

Eddie, your quilt for your daughter is very pretty as usual. Do you do the bindings for your quilts on the sewing machine or is it by hand?

Yes, just one jelly roll. I like this pattern because there is zero waste - you use every scrap of it.

Junie

It's all done by machine. The only hand sewing I do is to sew the label on. But I'm getting to where I kinda like doing that. I'm wanting to do some hand applique, so we'll see how long my like of handwork lasts, LOL! :D

A pantograph is a repeating pattern than comes on a long roll of paper. You lay the roll of paper on the frame table and use a laser light stylus attached to the quilting machine head to trace and follow that pattern so that the quilting is done in the same pattern.

Lockeb 08-08-2010 04:31 PM
