Stop Practicing.....I think you got it! LOL
Great job and I love the quilt!

grann of 6 07-18-2010 10:58 AM

Next time you want to practice, come practice at my house. I haven't mastered that technique yet; after seeing yours, not sure I want to, mine will never look that good.

Pineapple Princess 07-18-2010 11:11 AM

Beautiful!

pab58 07-18-2010 12:04 PM

I think the quilt turned out really beautiful, and your quilting is wonderful!!! Practice, huh?? I really have my work cut out for me to ever reach that level!!

rootyr 07-18-2010 12:29 PM

Ditto on that!! I love the fabric & colors too! Do you like this quilt better since it's quilted?

Blue Bell 07-18-2010 06:29 PM

It is so pretty and you did an excellent job with quilting.

annette1952 07-18-2010 10:44 PM

Beautiful quilt & quilting!

k3n 07-19-2010 01:19 AM

Beautiful! Your FMQ just goes to show that you don't need a long arm to produce wonderful machine quilting, 'just' practice! You are a genius at reading the quilt and designing a quilting pattern to suit it rather than just imposing a quilting design over the piecing. :-D

Katrine 07-19-2010 04:57 AM

Thank you everyone, you are very kind.
And yes, dkabasketlady - I DO like it better now it's quilted, it always fascinates me how a top takes on another "life" once the quilting is done, and binding on!

kacy 49 07-19-2010 05:36 AM

I love your quilt and the quilting looks perfect. It is beautiful.

Linda1 07-19-2010 05:56 AM

Nice job. I have a Janome 6600 but have not tried quilting yet.

I love how you turned your quilt side ways. I too have a square quilt on the bed, but never thought to turn it.

bobolee 07-20-2010 06:04 AM

it looks like you've definitely mastered the art of free motion quilting! Fantastic.

wvdek 07-20-2010 06:46 AM

If my FMing looked half as good as yours, I would be tickled pink!

Just beautiful and I love the quilt top and colors.

alaskasunshine 07-20-2010 06:55 AM

The reason I got my 6600 was to be able to do free motion on it, and havent been disappointed, so do have a go!

For those of you who like the feathers, it is the method as in the book "Hooked on Feathers" by Sally Terry. No backtracking, very forgiving and easy to do. And the end result always looks good. This is a link to my first go after buying the book with examples on the first page, and page 5.

OMG! You should be ecstatic! That is beautiful. I am still trying to get up the courage to FMQ. If I could do as well as you, I wouldn't hesitate.

That's wonderful!!

barnbum 07-20-2010 08:23 AM

I love it all! The fabric--the pattern--the quilting!! Your points are excellent! Well done!!

Mickie612 07-20-2010 09:05 AM

I wish I quilted as well as you practice. That is awesome.

Beautiful quilting. I'm going to buy the book. Books do indeed make all the difference.

Babs194068 07-20-2010 01:22 PM

I agree it doesn't look like you need to practice.

JudeWill 07-20-2010 02:25 PM

My practice certainly doesn't look like that!
