I never think of it a rejection. As a judge's helper at the local County Fair, I have come to realize that not all judges judge the same. Never take it personally. I also work in the Floral Hall during fair hours. You frequently hear comments like "Why didn't this quilt get a blue ribbon? Or, "Why did this quilt get a blue ribbon? As a helper, we frequently wonder what the judge was thinking. This year our judge was very discriminate and gave very few blue ribbons. It is not personal!

Rejection?! Are you kidding?! Blue ribbon or not your dad loves it and since you made it for him I'd say that's all that really matters. And the fact that you like it. Do you really care what a bunch of strangers eating cotton candy think of it? It truly is one of the most unique and beautiful quilts I've seen on this board, and with all the talent on this board, that's saying a lot. You're already a winner, blue ribbon or not.

Feel the fear and do it anyway! It is beautiful and deserving of recognition!

I made this quilt and used the flying geese border like the pattern but I like your border better. Not as busy as all those geese. Good luck at the Fair!!

that is exactly the reason I used a regular border, I felt the flying geese would be too busy.
