Hmmm - curves - I agree - I like curves when the blocks are full of straight lines. Maybe feathers? It sort of depends on how comfortable you feel with your machine quilting. Long, graceful curves along the dark and light diagonal lines would look nice. You could space them close together like cross-hatching - or leave them as wide apart as your batting recommends. Could you explain a little more about your cross-hatching curvy lines idea? I'm trying to visualize it. Feather curves? Or just lines? |

Beautiful quilt!!!
That is really pretty. I am glad I am not the only one that has
had quilts going that long. |
Wonderful quilt.
Awesome. U did a great job
Beautiful, love the originality, Your long hard work has created a master piece.
Excellent work
It' is a gorgeous quilt. As far a quilting it goes. Don't get too fancy. The top is very busy and you won't see it. A curvy cross hatching would work. Even just a simple meandering (stipple) in the center would work. I would probably to stitch in the ditch in the piano keys.

This scrappy log cabin is for my husband- poor guy, originally it was supposed to be a 30th birthday present... then a 5 year anniversary present... then a 10 year anniversary present... maybe now it will actually be done for our 12th!? Though I started it about 10 years ago (give or a take a year!), I actually cranked out 90% of this in the last 2 and a half weeks. Now I'm looking for ideas for quilting design. I've had some ideas- I know I don't want straight lines, definitely want curvy quilting of some sort- but nothing that I can settle on. Would be thankful for some suggestions! : ) |
Very nice. Now that you see how nice it's come out, aren't you sorry you waited so long? How about a fleur-de-lis design in each of the triangles. Or, loops and hearts (since for your husband bday/anniversary) would be sweet. Thanks for sharing.
Just gorgous!! So well worth the wait, I'd say!!!  :D
love it!!!
Wonderful quilt! The quilting won't show up much against all the colors so a simple curvy all-over pattern might be your best bet.
In the corners you can put something unique in reference to his hobby. Just a beginner.
Very nice quilt and very interestng border. Hubby will love it.
Congrats, Kutnso |
I love it
It's beautiful! You can do an image search on Google for Log Cabin Quilts and see some of the ways to quilt it. There are also many on this board.
I love scrappy!!!
Does not matter how long---now was when it was supposed to be born!!! So pretty!
Oh, its gorgeous! I love feathers, so I would use some type of large feather square design if it were mine....especially since I do mine on my DSM..not a LA. I'm sure there are some beautiful feather pantos out there is you LA.
Gotta LOVE log cabins - I never tire of looking at them. I particularly like your block layout, with dark centers/light centers alternating.
Wow, your LC is one of the best scrappies I've ever seen. I absolutely LOVE IT:) So inspirational...thanks.
This is an Awesome quilt. I look at it and see HOURS of work. Your husband is lucky to have such a talented wife.
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think quilting it with a babtist fan would be pretty or maybe a paisley pattern.
