What a treasure, and so nice that they took a picture of her with the quilt. I have always wanted to try that pattern. This may just be my motivation. Thank you so much for posting.

Oh my, what a gorgeous quilt! Glad you included her in the picture. Give Elsie a big hug for all of us. Bet the quilting helps keep her going. She is a true artist. I've always loved that pattern but thought it would be too difficult. Maybe I just need a few more years experience - like about 40. :)

Wow! So beautiful! Would love to talk to her. Imagine the stories she could share about her life growing up.....

Dolphyngyrl 10-08-2011 08:15 AM

Wow I can't even imagine living that long and being healthy enough to continue quilting, but I hope when I get close to that age I can still quilt

What a beautiful quilt and smiling face of the lady who did it as 102. Nice find for a genealogist in the family to keep and pass down to future generations. Love the pattern.

Wow 102 what a remarkable lady..... I should only be so lucky to reach anything near 102. Elsie may you be quilting for many years to come..... keep making those treasures.

Did meet a lady that was 102 years young and I asked her what was the one thing the made the most impression on her....
Well she said there were many thing but the one that stands out to her is when the took the outhouse and put it in the house.....

Elsie hope you are having a great day..... your quilt is wonderful.

Both did fine work.....It is interesting to me that a 102 yr old woman is still working at a job, besides hand piecing quilts.

amyjo 10-08-2011 09:58 AM

wonderful that she is still able to do this. And for friends to do the quilting.

Sadiemae 10-08-2011 10:14 AM

For those interested, I "think" this is the pattern ... Nosegay, or Nosegay Bridal Quilt
