For all you ladies out there who would like a box like this. I'm almost certain this is an old machinist's toolbox that Grandfather adapted for Grandmother's sewing chest. You can still buy these boxes on Ebay and other places, though, I warn you, they are expensive. They are reproducing these boxes but they, too, are expensive. Plan to pay $100 or more for one. I want one--had one many years ago that my husband relined for my jewelry collection. Sadly, it was disposed of many years ago. I am so happy for you to have such a wonderful treasure!

I would love to have something like this from my grandmother who raised me, but alas, I was not asked what I wanted when my grandmother died... but even though I know I should not envy!!!! I do envy you
