Hi ladies. This isn't the greatest picture but wanted to show you the backing fabric that I ordered. Both mom and I thought it was a perfect match. I can't wait to see what borders mom puts on it then the finishing borders. Since mom is the last border and she will be doing the LA'ing on it she will put additional borders on it to make it king size. Just so all you ladies know it has been an honor to work with each and every one of you. You all did different interpretation of me and hit it spot on. Thank you so very much.

Happy Valentines Day ladies. I am going to miss this swap but wanted to say thank you for all the learning experiences, bumps, triumphs along the way. I am that much better for having done this. Yahooo!!!!

Haven't thought about the next round yet for Melinda's top. Been busy with family and need to get two other round robins done first. Be patient and will get it done. happy Valentines to all.

Jan - I received my top! Sorry I have not posted before now - DH put the mail in the dining room which we have been using as storage for all our living room furniture while we have the floor redone!

I truly love it. All the rounds you ladies did are fantastic. Thank you all so much - this is a true quilter's quilt as it is just for me.

Please say a special prayer for Linda tonight, her shunt quit working for the dialysis and she had surgery yesterday. They still could not make it work so she is in surgery or recovery as I type this. Prayers that it will work this time will be greatly appreciated. Her daughter will be flying into Cody tonight and we will go to Montana tomorrow.

I am sorry to hear that. I knew she was going yesterday to have it "flushed" but had not heard that she needed surgery to fix it.
Special prayers for her and her family. Please keep us in the loop with her progress.

It wouldn't fix. She went into surgery again today and is now in much needed dialysis as I type. She IS spending the night and will bring her home tomorrow. The hospital believed me, I told them I was her sister and she needed to stay there and make sure everything is working good. "quilt sister" makes sense to me, and she will probably be very angry but that's okay will deal with that later.

Your best friend is always your sister. Please keep her there until they are able to get something working for her.

Thanks Melinda, I needed that. It's kind of been a tear jerker day today. I know she wanted to come home and be here tonight when her daughter got here, but it was a really stupid thing to do, IMO, so my big mouth just came right open to all those nurses. I'll deal with Linda's wrath later and apologize if I need to, but would rather have her still on this earth!

Exactly. I would have done the same thing. My doctor honestly thinks my best friend is my sister and none of my family has ever told her differently especially since I have no sisters

Jaba my prayers are with Linda and the ordeal she is going through. I want you to know my prayers are with you as well. Friends are in need of the blessings God has as well. I pray for peace of Spirit for you as you handle the things Linda doesn't need to be worrying about right now. Love and peace.

Just got off the phone with her and she certainly sounds in better spirits. They are going to do dialysis again this morning and then she can come home. Will have to have surgery again in a couple of weeks to finish the port site for dialysis as this one is a temporary she said, but that shouldn't be too complicated. Whew! she didn't yell at me, even got a couple of giggles out of her.

Jan, You truly are a 'sister' for Linda and I for one, am glad you convinced the powers that be that she needed to stay. Sending healing thoughts for her and still keeping fingers crossed that she will find a donor soon. Say hi to her and tell her we are all thinking of her!

Thanks for the good news Jan. Glad she didn't yell at you - I think she knows you have her best interests at heart. Besides - now she will be feeling better when she gets to spend time with her daughter.

One: I AM BACK! yeahoooooo! Two: I CAN YELL AT HER IF I WANT TO.. but.. I don't want to :) she is a good friend and I value her friendship greatly. I just don't like being.. less abled. And this mental jerk is a major one. I came home couldn't think .. just couldn't place things. And suddenly it was like a light went on. OH the oil is over there! and I felt better but still.. i think I might have a long way to go and that my dear friends scares the hell out of me. I wonder if things will be gone forever or just for days.. praying its just days. oh crud. said it. phew. I am missing a big part of some blank spots. they will come, just takes time. wish honestly.. I was doing it by myself. this way I could slowly .. get it .. now I am playing guest/company and oh brother its not simple at all. and she has zero patience. like zero. crudo again.

life is sure an interesting challenge at time. I will ride through and soon this part will be over. thankfully.

Jan, your top is on it's way home. I didn't get a chance to take pictures because I finished about 10 minutes before the mail man was due - I wanted to make sure it went out today.

I finally finished my round for Elisabrat. The top and bottom are one row larger than the sides because she wanted to elongate it a bit. If she approves, I will mail out on Monday.

Dragonfly, you did a great job on Brat's quilt. I like the idea of adding another row of little squares to elongate it.

Thanks Sandy. Brat wanted to try to make it longer so that seemed to work without being obvious. I think it would look great if she added the "drops" in blue (making the top and bottom just a bit wider than the sides) to finish it out.

Ladies I have been following this thread and want all of you to know I am impressed with your work .It's so much fun to watch each quilt grow. My favorite is the red and white one but only because those are my colors. I think this would be fun to do but I would be so afraid that I would mess up someones quilt. lol
