30's Playtime Jelly Roll from Moda
1 Attachment(s)
This was my project this week. I used a 6.5 inch snowball and 6.5 inch 9 patch to make this twin size quilt. I love the 30 and 40's fabrics....a blast from my past. The quilts I grew up with were not works of art but items to keep us warm. Mama and Grandma used lots of muslin (feed sacks, sugar and flour sack) and any scraps from clothing sewing. This quilt makes me smile :)

I absolutely love your quilt. It is so pretty. I am binding two twin quilts made with repo 30's right now. I just LOVE 30's fabric but it is getting harder to buy or find it seems to me. Thank you for sharing your beautiful quilt.

I would be smiling too! Beautiful quilt. We grew up with function quilts also..made with any fabric available, not always pretty but we were warm!
|

Makes me smile too. Love it.

I love your quilt! Utility quilts are what I grew up with, too. And my mother had a scrap bag for old clothes and pieces left over from making our clothes, even though she'd rather be doing anything but sitting and sewing. It's these type quilts that got me interested in quilting. Thanks for sharing.

I just love the fabrics and the pattern. I did one a few years ago with the same pattern (snowball and nine patch), It ended up looking totally different. I think I like yours much better.
