Buddy'smom, As a single mother I can appreciate your struggle to find funds to finance a hobby, but I found Op Shops a good place for almost new sheets for backings and lightweight bed spreads for batting (just cut off the valance and save for other small projects). Thankfully last year I reached the stage of being mortgage and debt free so can afford some new fabrics and I'm older than your husband. I wish him well back at work and more fun in your spare time; your quilt is beautiful and deserves to be finished - wish you were closer to Western Australia so that I could help you with it.
