Jackie R........if you go back to page 4, thread 32, there is a picture of the back side. I sandwiched, quilted and bound the piece to be added (bound on 3 sides), then positioned it under the binding on the big quilt and stitched in the ditch of the original binding. It has been quite a while since I did this so some things are a little fuzzy. I think I was able to turn under the raw edge on the back side of the addition and it was stitched at the same time.

Thanks for the info - I did not see your response prior to my question. You did a very clever and good job on the extension to your quilt. It's beautiful.
