#21 is so pretty---I love all the variations. Me? I'm somewhere behind ya'll trying to get my hands to work on these teeny tiny pieces! Drat, wish I had enlarged it.

sandpat 04-15-2011 10:19 AM

Pretty Elle....I love your fabric choices. Those leaves reminded me of the much "beloved" melons..right??

Butterflyspain 04-15-2011 10:55 AM

Yes those never to be forgotten Melons.

Thanks for the phone call tonight Patti, you are so sweet thinking about me. I am now back in the swing and loving it

Aren't you glad that Jane had so many of those mellons? You are now expert melon stitchers, for sure! Kinda makes up for all those scrolls, doesn't it?

franair 04-15-2011 08:50 PM

I just love seeing every one's blocks.. they are all so different.. I wish I had taken pictures of all my blocks before I put it together...

If you kept the quilt, you could still take pics of each block - and crop them to eliminate the surrounding blocks.

sandpat 04-16-2011 05:22 AM

LOL...I've been called lots of things Kathy..but never before a "melon expert"!! LOL!

Here is my #21. I notice lots of pointies on this one. Not sure why.

Oh, wow, I somehow missed this thread. All the blocks posted so far are gorgeous. I don't know I missed seeing them.

Becca Bear 04-30-2011 12:45 PM

Really lovely Judy.

sandpat 04-30-2011 03:49 PM

Judy...its lovely! I don't think that you will notice those "pointies" as much as you get more to lay out together and start putting the quilt together....at least thats what I'm telling myself!! LOL!

Butterflyspain 04-30-2011 11:47 PM

Elle, Tom is Patti's lovesick kitty in her avatar! I just love him - he's so cute!!!

Butterflyspain 05-01-2011 01:20 PM

Awe a cat, and there was I thinking you had a new sewing machine

sandpat 05-01-2011 05:07 PM

LOL!!!! I knew it was my Tom...just wanted to let you imagine what you would for awhile Elle...LOL!!

Elle...your block looks gorgeous!!

QuiltswithConvicts 05-01-2011 08:01 PM

Ooooo, Patti, you're so naughty! Letting Elle think other things! I like the way you think!

I've been a kitty lady since I was adopted. Yup, had a guard kitty sleeping in my crib! My mother didn't know how to keep Fluffy out. I ended up having the same problem with my firstborn! Napoleon scrunched himself down into the bottom corner of the crib. This was in the day before baby monitors, etc., so if you wanted to be able to hear the baby - you had to leave the door open. It was quieter than closing & opening it every time. Squeaks, you know.

JudyG 05-02-2011 08:31 PM

You guys are so mean to poor Elle. What a hoot!!

sandpat 05-03-2011 04:29 AM

Poor Elle???!!! Poor Elle you say???....believe me, that girl can dish as well as she can take...

Ladies all of the previous block 21's are stunningly beautiful, you all do such a great job on your blocks.

Here is my Block 21, this was a nice one to do - no curlie things ...LOL.

Butterflyspain 05-09-2011 02:53 AM

I loved doing this one as well. I like the way you have accents on block left top and right top, did you do that with a pencil??

Lacelady 05-09-2011 03:50 AM

Nice one Donna. Very pretty.

sandpat 05-09-2011 05:15 AM

Yes, I really like this one Donna...love your little accents on the petals.

d.rickman 05-09-2011 10:25 AM

Thanks for the nice comments.

Kathy, Lesley, Lynnie, Patti, Judy and Elle, I love all your blocks they are all very different from each other, the colors are all so rich, it will be interesting to see how all these show when completed.

Elle - in response to your question, the permanent marking pen I am using is "Pigma Micron - 01 archival ink, 0.25 mm line width - made by Sakura Color products corp." it is also available in wider line widths. I use these pens on the completed block, I like the detail they provide. They are not easy for me to locate - not many stores handle this product.
I also use "Staedler Mars Lumpgraph -2H pencils, which do not rub off on your hands (for tracing)- these are drafting items used when drawing by draftsmen.

Butterflyspain 05-09-2011 10:29 AM

Thanks for the info Donna

d.rickman 05-09-2011 11:43 AM

You're welcome Elle, hope you are having a wonderful day!!
