Nice one Judy - the law of averages says you have to have SOME easy ones in between the harder ones, doesn't it?

JudyG 04-20-2011 06:36 AM

Yes, Lesley, it's nice to work on something easy after fighting with those scrolls.

here is my block 26 I think I need to redo it to get the v shape

Butterflyspain 04-22-2011 08:34 AM

No, its beautiful as is. There is nothing wrong with the "V" shape honestly. I love the red

I agree with Elle - and by the time you have done a lot more, it will blend in so you don't notice what you don't like now. believe me, it happened a lot when we were doing the Dear Jane quilts.

craftyone27 04-22-2011 01:18 PM

Beautiful blocks ladies!! LynneK I love your bold contrast in fabric choices, especially love the dragonflies!

sandpat 04-22-2011 04:14 PM

Lynnie...don't do this over!! Certainly not yet!! I love the fabs...and your fussy cut center is really cute. I'm working on this one now too.

4EVERquilt 04-22-2011 08:36 PM

Here is my # 26. Hmmmm, I noticed that I didn't outline the leaves with the embroidery. I'm not sure I'm going to go back and do it though.

Another gorgeous block, Patti. I love, love, love the colors and fabrics you are using. And I wouldn't worry about the leaves. I think it looks fabulous as it is.

Butterflyspain 04-25-2011 07:07 AM

Lovely Patti, with or without the embroidery around the leaves. such pretty colours

Donna I think al the quilts are going to be lovely, they are all going to be special, so much love and time go into making each block

d.rickman 05-01-2011 08:57 AM

After this quilt is completed, I'm thinking I may join the ladies with "the brown bird" quilt, have you looked at that one?
(I think that is what the name of it was?)

Oh yes that is one beautiful quilt. I hope to join in this one too, but think its quite advanced and I may increase the block sizes and not do all of them, if that makes sense to you.

Little Brown Bird - I don't think the pieces are all that much smaller than on this quilt, certainly no worse that those who are making it in 7in size. A few of us have the book, and that is the main sticking point as its out of print and horrendously expensive. I think I have all the fabrics I'm likely to need now, and the others are keeping a look out for what they need.

d.rickman 05-02-2011 07:42 AM

Boo Hoo!! Very Sad now..see my desperate PM

I was about to say the same and you got there first Elle - nice embroidery Donna.

sandpat 05-12-2011 05:11 AM

Aw, geesh..great minds think alike!! I third what Elle said!

Beautiful Donna!

All your blocks are really beautiful. Once I had sewn the centre piece in place, I realized that the fabric was to pretty to "cover" with the applique in the centre. I have put minimal silk ribbon embroidery on instead. My "signature" on all my quilts is a fan and a silk ribbon flower so this block is the silk flower. Topaz-Spain

sandpat 06-16-2011 05:56 AM

Michelle, that is gorgeous! I love how you just take the blocks as a "suggestion" and make them your own. You are so right about that fabric...way too pretty to cover! You and Elle with that silk ribbon embroidery...its lovely!

Ducky 06-16-2011 06:33 AM

Donna, I love your block! The colors are fabulous and I really like your embroidery idea. Looks great.

Michelle, I would have hated to hide that fabric, too! It is fun to see everyone's creative ideas. I never would have thought to use silk ribbon -- brilliant!

Butterflyspain 06-16-2011 06:40 AM

Michele, absolutely gorgeous,love it.

Elle

Lacelady 06-16-2011 07:45 AM

I agree your center is lovely. Great block.

Roxanne 06-16-2011 10:18 AM

Michelle,
When you told us you have severe arthritis and would be struggling, I had no idea you would come up with such creative alternatives! Your signature on this quilt is such a nice touch and adds to the block rather than detract from that beautiful center.

Mousie 06-16-2011 05:07 PM

oh my gosh! michelle...that is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is my favorite kind of...ANYTHING!!!!
It's floral, it's cottagey, it's floral...lol...it's got deep pinks...its gorgeous...it's cottagey...ahhhh!
Can you tell I like it?
No, I don't...I love it :XD:
