OK...finally, here is mine! You would think this is the last block for my center, but you would be wrong. I now have to decide on which 4 of my doodle designs that I need to use for the rest of them. Anyway...on this one, I didn't add any green and really wish I had. Its ok...just not sure how great it is going to play well with the others. I used the varigated R/D thread on this one to add a little bit more to it. I've done that on a couple of others also.

Your quilt is going to look so warm, Patti. I don't think it is lacking some green, it will fit in, I'm sure.

I agree with you about making me to get squiffy with you. These blocks are driving me nuts. we should be pros with the scrolls by the end of this quilt. All of these blocks are so pretty I love all the colors. It seems like you can't go wrong using the batiks everything blends so well. Thanks for sharing all these great blocks

I just finished watching a Sharon Schamber youtube video on needleturn applique. Instead of freezer paper which has to be removed, she uses a sort of stabilizer and glue. It was very interesting. She specifically does some tiny points and innie points. She stabilizes the innie points with Elmer's glue and boy she had a nice point. You all might be interested in her ideas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEeirIl1Acs I am going to try the Elmer's.

sandpat 05-18-2011 04:57 PM

Thanks Judy...I'm going to go look at that right now!

Lynnie..I just love your block! The center flower is so pretty and your blue flower centers are just perfect! Are you using the circle thingies or how are you getting them so perfect???

Well it took me awile to get this one done losts of distractions i had to finish my daughter's graduation quilt and do all anouncments and invitaions this week. Glad they are all done. Now i have to plane a party. Hope you like this one it's is my third corner block and i'm using the same fabric on all the four corners. I was worried that it did not have enough contrast but when i put it on my design with all the other I think it looks great. 8 block done just a few more to go.

Mousie 05-26-2011 04:50 PM

oooh, Lisa...yummy....hearts look like candy! slurp!
Your blocks are always so imaginative. yum! :XD:

sandpat 05-26-2011 05:10 PM

Judy, Thanks for sharing this info. I watched her video and it gave me some confidence that maybe I can do needle turn applique. I went to Purple Daisies LLC and I ordered the light weight foundation and the glue tips. I am definitely going to give this method a try.

Butterflyspain 05-28-2011 08:13 AM

Wow gorgeous blocks, love the ideas too.

Having just come back from holiday have got to get in the swing again.

Absolutely hated doing this block. Way too many little hearts. By the time I finished the block, I really wasn't sure I wanted to do any more (nah!)

Without embroidery as I am saving all my blocks to take to the beach on vacation.

nstitchs 05-31-2011 02:33 PM

So pretty.

yetta 05-31-2011 02:35 PM

just beautiful,

sandpat 05-31-2011 04:35 PM

Oh, I love this one!! Love the contrast of that big lily pad to your little hearts!Great job!

Mousie 05-31-2011 05:21 PM

mmm, rox, like the orange here.
I forget that the flowers are made up of lots of little hearts...
I've been "studying" how to do all this...
tomorrow, it's time to bite the bullet, sink or swim,
cheese? or na-cho cheese...

Butterflyspain 05-31-2011 10:14 PM

I´m loving your colours too, great block you did a really good job on that one. Its funny how some blocks just get in your head and you end up hating it. I liked this one.

Here it is finished. Now I have all my center blocks finished . I've decided to do the QAYG and will start my sandwiches tomorrow. I'll wait until the center is together before posting a center picture.
I'll be watching everyone's progression from the sidelines as I am at a total loss concerning that little inside border!

sandpat 07-03-2011 04:47 PM

How exciting Rox!!! We'll be waiting to see how you've decided to quilt it

JudyG 07-03-2011 05:09 PM

How do you plan on quilting the blocks, Rox?

Something simple since I've only recently begun fmq and I'm still pretty bad at it. I hope each block will speak to me and if not, I'll be fretting over that for a while along with the border.

QuiltswithConvicts 07-03-2011 07:46 PM

I used the same fabric that you used on your 2 of your center hearts for all 4 of my 4 side hearts, only in a slightly different colorway. My "flowers" are more aqua, but the background is the same. Isn't that funny!

Your block is wonderful!

I had to go back and look at your block to see ..Don't you just love that sunflower fabric? I have it in purple, green and orange and have used all in my AOTH. It's leftover from my last project.
