I wouldn't worry about it. Quilt looks great and if you don't tell anyone that there is a mistake no one will know.

Beautiful quilt....if it took you 3 years, I would say it is not very noticeable!!!

JoanneS 05-04-2013 01:30 PM

I wouldn't have noticed if you had not have said there's a mistake. Call it a design choice and finish it!

IBQUILTIN 05-04-2013 02:51 PM

I found it, but only because you brought it to my attention. Never mention it again, and only you and I will know. lol

Took me a while but I see it...ya know, if anyone has to look for it---it's not a mistake, it's love and character to comfort ones soul.

I saw it immediately, but my work requires that I notice things like that. I'd leave it alone if it were me. Some quilters in the past used to deliberately make a mistake because, they said, only God is perfect.

buddy'smom 05-05-2013 03:45 AM

I think you have all talked me into it, mistake will stay. Thank you.

lkahle 05-05-2013 04:25 AM

it is still a pretty quilt even the amish ladies make a mistake on purpose because god is the only one who is perfect

Debbie C 05-05-2013 02:08 PM

having a 'mistake' in your quilt is perfectly okay. You can refer to it as your 'humility block' if someone notices. If they don't, just know that we all make mistakes and it's really no big deal. Your quilt is lovely just as it is.

Remember no two snowflakes are alike! Your quilt looks great.

If it were me I'd fix it. Otherwise, it's like a beacon to remind you of your Boo Boo. Down the road it will bother you.....ask me how I know, lol!

Aylahopper 05-05-2013 06:32 PM

I tend to leave my "mistakes" alone. They remind us that we are people!!

Your quilt looks great!!

ladysuds 05-05-2013 09:31 PM

I would just appliqué the missing piece there when it is all quilted in place no one will be able to tell...still very pretty

heather1949 05-06-2013 01:07 AM

Yes, but i'm glad as I am a learner really, so that makes me so happy that I can spot mistakes as well as my own still lovely.

mighty 05-07-2013 08:08 AM

It is really beautiful mistake or not!!!

buddy'smom 05-07-2013 11:28 AM

Thanks so much.

tuckyquilter 05-16-2013 01:32 PM

There are no mistakes in quilting... just carefully crafted "abstracts"....for the eye to follow... lol

petthefabric 05-16-2013 01:41 PM

I found it. My friend would definitely change it. Me, yeah, I think I'd fix it. It's on the edge, shouldn't be too hard.

So that's my opinion, it's your quilt, what's your opinion?

buddy'smom 05-17-2013 06:07 AM

I may have to fix it??? I do hate mistakes.

Suzette316 05-17-2013 06:32 AM

I saw it right away, but if it were me, I wouldn't even think of changing it! I love the little 'mistakes' we sometimes make in our quilts. It's humbling and it just makes the piece all the more homey for its little imperfection!:)

humbird 05-17-2013 07:39 AM

Some mistakes I leave. If it is obvious, I fix it. Your quilt is beautiful, and think it deserves to be fixed.
