bodie358 06-23-2010 09:12 AM

I love these and now want to try to adapt them to my Wire Fox Terrier, really would just have to change the dog colors.

LeslieSkelly 06-23-2010 09:34 AM

Adorable!

ruthieg 06-23-2010 09:46 AM

Awe!!! So cute. You should be very proud at earning so much for the Texas Airedale Rescue. I have made quilts for raffle that have earned up to $800. That is a wonderful A+ for you.

shopaholic97 06-24-2010 03:52 AM

Those are adorable. Must try something like this for my Keeshounds

nannya54 06-24-2010 04:53 AM

How fun and such a great job!

starstruck 06-24-2010 04:57 AM

can I copy your idea? I am with greyhound rescue and it would be a neat idea for them.

CarrieAnne 06-24-2010 05:02 AM

Aw, I love those! Good for you for donating the one, Bless you!

farmer623 06-24-2010 05:51 AM

Love the quilts! We had an Airedale years ago who still holds the title of being the craziest dog we ever had. I loved him, but he was so aggravating, an escape artist who couldn't find his way home after he got out. I kept him alive for 11 years, which I thought was pretty good, considering how nuts he was. He was enormous, taller than me when he stood on his hind legs.

johncy 06-24-2010 06:04 AM

Sooooo clever, i love them,

Just want everyone to know and understand that these two Airedale quilts are NOT my creations. I saw them in a magazine and made changes to fit my needs. I copied them, myself. If copying isn't okay, then I'm dead in the water. I do not have a creative mind. I see things that I like and unless it strictly says 'copyright', I try to find the owner and if I can't, I make it. I always tell where it come from. Would love to see it when you make it with Greyhounds. I made and donated a quilt to Greyhound Rescue in Wisconsin a few years ago.

That sounds so much like a typical Airedale. Gotta love them.

KathyAire 06-24-2010 06:53 AM

Thanks, everyone for the nice comments about the quilts. Working with Airedales rank really high on my list of priorities.

charcrfts 06-24-2010 08:33 AM

Both quilts are wonderful!!! Glad to see the stairway quilt made a lot of money for the cause! :)

Roberta 06-24-2010 09:46 AM

I love your work. Do they have one for Borzoi?

tadpoles_62 06-24-2010 09:48 AM

i love them , you are such a good person to donate your quilts to help airdales.

Roberta wrote: Do they have one for Borzoi.

I don't, but if you could get someone to draw a design, you could do one.

Grinster 06-24-2010 10:58 AM

My neice (Annie Grin) is an Airdale. I love her to pieces. She is such an entertaining and sweet thing! When we visit she effortless jumps up on my DH and puts her paws on his shoulders and licks his face. My DH is 6'7" Annie and our 2 goldens have finally gotten used to each other. Our youngest golden used to be very afraid of Annie because she was so curious. I am sending Annie's mom your quilt picture. She is also a quilter!

The quilts are beautiful. I'm also with greyhound rescue. Could you share the patterns? I tried to find the Hearts & Dales (I Wooly Love Ewe) pattern on Fons and Porter but couldn't. The Stairway to Cat Heaven is a McCalls pattern. I don't know if it's still available or not.

BTW you can order different dog breed fabric from http://hotdiggitydog.com/. They have about 300 different breeds. They also have numerous different animal fabrics not just dogs.

They are both very beautiful; how awesome that the first raised so much money!!! You must be very proud of your work. I can see why you can't let go of the second one; I wouldn't either.

anicra 06-24-2010 04:39 PM

How very adorable.

Sadheart 06-24-2010 05:29 PM

Great work. Thanks for sharing. Love the way you placed the dogs in the first quilt. They look like they are having fun.

Annz 06-24-2010 06:53 PM

What great quilts and the amount raised must make you feel very proud.

JCL in FL 06-24-2010 08:11 PM

They both are great quilts. And what a great fund raiser. I'd think all Airedale owners would want a quilt like that , heck I do and I have a Bearded Collie

dglvr 06-24-2010 08:13 PM

I love your quilts. I make alot of doggy ones too. Those are the best. You did a great job.
