Beautiful quilts! Are you in the Trinity Valley Quilters Guild? I was at their show in Sept 2011 and really enjoyed it. Did you have any quilts in it?

Airedale quilts
What a cute idea!
I have a folder titled 'Basenji ideas' this is definitely going into. I tend to make any dog related quilts with a basenji somewhere on them, give a lot to our national club for prizes at our national show, I'm always looking for cute ideas |
Beautiful! My fav is the first but love both! Great job and great contribution!
|
Love your Airedales! Where did you get the pattern for the dogs?
|
I love them both, I couldn't choose a favorite. You should be so proud.
|
I love your quilts and I applique most every quilt I make and use wonderunder and blanket stitch around I like it that way but I also do freezerpaper where you press the edges over on the waxed with the iron then use invisable tread on top and blind stitch so it looks hand done. I took a lesson on freezer paper method years ago. bignan

'Stairway to Airedale Heaven' is from a quilting magazine. I'm sure most of you have seen it. It was originally a wall hanging and called 'Stairway to Cat Heaven'. I enlarged it to a queen size and substituted Airedales for the cats. It was recently raffled off for Texas Airedale Rescue and raised $1,230.00.
'Hearts & Dales' is from Fons & Porter magazine. It was called 'I Wooly Love Ewe' and featured sheep. Again, I enlarged it to queen size and used my beloved Airedales rather than sheep. I've had it about a year now and I haven't been able to let go of it, yet. I'm sure that I will donate it to Airedale Rescue in the future. I do make quilts other than Airedales but they aren't as interesting. Stairway to Airedale Heaven Hearts & Dales |
Wow! What a great resource you are for the rescue. I have some patterns I've wanted to try for my breed of dog but haven't gotten around to touching it. These are great patterns you've shared. Thanks so much~

Is there a place in this forum where quilts made with loved creatures are displayed? Id enjoy that. Your quilt is great! Rescued pets are just like any pet but we feel they are special because they give us a chance to do a good deed which always feels great. Bless you for your work of charity.
