Oh my goodness! That is so adorable! Who did you make that for?

Did you have a pattern or just make this one up on your own?

It's so cute!

zyxquilts 03-29-2007 03:07 PM

That is hysterical!!! Great job! I'm making a 'flat cat' out of this furry fleece stuff that leaves tendrils all over the floor when you touch it. (trying to figure out how to make it stop that)
That cow made my day!

This has to be the most creative quilt I've ever seen. I absolutely love it. I've also got a 'cow' quilt in progress. It's not nearly as cleaver as your cow.

Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Thanks so much for sharing!! :P

Norah 03-29-2007 05:56 PM

You may not be the only one, but you are crazy. That is the most original, cutest thing I ever saw. Does it really moo?

Norah 03-29-2007 05:57 PM

Oh, yeah. Cute foot, too! :D

live2teach 03-29-2007 06:09 PM

Wow, that is really cute and creative! Haha...I really like this.

b1pegasus 03-29-2007 07:06 PM

I made it for my siter-in-law the saying just cuze the cow don't milk don't mean you have to kill the bull My sister in law being the cow... so She became My Utter sister... I have been sending her cow for a few years now

I found a voice button ( thanks to a freind) at the place where you build you own teddybears they had a cow so she moos. The funny thing is when I shoud it to people few have tried to milk her. I Found a instructions for a paper cow I had two remove a couple of legs and make my own utters which took two tries but over all it worked out I think she will love it. Next is a crossword puzzle to be raffled off for a charity

Thanks for all the feed back and that is my real foot

patricej 03-30-2007 02:13 AM

i'll bet there isn't another quilt pattern anywhere else like that. slap a copyright on that sucker and make your fortune.

i'm so cheap my skates won't roll, but i wouldn't mind at all paying for a pattern like that!

i can picture that in a country kitchen. little cow placemats to match.

you are beyond talented. you put the oooooooooooooooooo in good!

vicki reno 03-30-2007 04:15 AM

Patrice is right :D You might have found your gold mine--its too cute! And you are soooo talented. Get your copyright and keep on spitting out those ideas, then when can sya we knew you when you were just a "crazy" quilter and look at you now, Miss Moneybags  Do the placemats, it'll just be sooo right!

ceannastahr 03-30-2007 04:18 AM

susan s. 03-30-2007 10:31 AM

OH WOW that is sew great. May I copy it?!! My sister would just love it! I'm in agreement about the copyright! Does anyone have any advice on how one would go about doing that? I'd make a bunch to sell and then start selling the pattern or both, whichever. I'm so jealous of your creativity  .

sunbeamstuff 03-30-2007 04:14 PM

WOW! Talk about different! Talk about creative! Did you make it for yourself?

b1pegasus 03-30-2007 08:06 PM

Hey eveyone I am having it copyrighted I will have a pattern or a kit made up here in a couple of weeks. I have a lot of people asking for me to make them one. I never thought it would be so loved. My only problem is they don't have the cow print material where i bought it so I might have to use something else for the cows...

zyxquilts 03-30-2007 08:23 PM

I love it!
No cow print? Seems I remember an old rhyme about a
purple cow....

b1pegasus 03-30-2007 09:16 PM

I have been reashering the copyright thing.... it says the minute you creat somthing it is copyrighted but to help you protect it you should register it with the copyritgh office.

I was thinking i Could make all kinds of cow purple, blue, and rainbows...

susan s. 03-31-2007 01:43 AM

They had cow material at Wallyworld last week. In two pattern sizes. For $2.00 per yd. Please let us know what process you have to go through for a copywrite. In case one of us has a brainstorm. :D

b1pegasus 03-31-2007 10:43 PM

where do you live susan S
I live in minnesota and I drove to Six aallyworlds before I found a few yards and it was tha last they had... I will keep everyone posted as I go but I guess it will take 4 months.

Knot Sew 04-01-2007 04:27 AM

I'm in NY mine has it and also Joanns, They also have it in fleece.

susan s. 04-01-2007 04:49 PM

I am in Montana. We have two walmarts that have a fabric dept. But, I guess they still plan to discontinue fabric. Just don't know when. Joanne's is still open and plans to stay I quess. They have fairly good sales. Not a large selection when it come to the clearance, but better than nothin I guess. It will be good news to the quilt shops around here I quess. easier for them to get their outrageous prices.

b1pegasus 04-02-2007 08:30 PM

Patrice
I really have only been quilting for about a year and am not sure what applique templates are could you explain Please... are you talking about the spots for the cows ??? boy I hope I don't sound like an idiot...

susan s. 04-03-2007 06:28 AM

I believe that the spots would be what she is refering to. Doing good for a newbie girl. I Don't believe there is a limit to how many pics one can post. As long as they are somehow related to the topic of quilting/sewing. You could e-mail Konstantin if you are in anyways unsure!

barberette 04-03-2007 03:53 PM

that is way cool. i love it.. you are soooo talented...

susan s. 04-03-2007 04:13 PM

Yea they have a new foot bridge across the Clark Fork just West of the park and East of Russell St. And The trail goes way past the University. Someone told me it goes out as far as Clinton. They built a new addition to the Adams Field house. The Rolling Stones played there last Sep I think it was. We could hear them play all the way over by Lowell School/ScottSt. Bridge. Are you familiar?

why does everybody around here apologize for asking questions? and worry about looking stupid? you know when i look the most stupid? when i not only won't admit i don't know something, but won't ask somebody who does. now that's 1st Class Stooooooooooooooooopid.

Pegasus ... when you ask a question you are displaying maturity, grace, a great deal of intelligence, and just plain commons sense. AND THAT GOES FOR THE REST OF US AROUND HERE, TOO. GOT IT?

end of lecture. class may go back to the playground.

Yes. I was talking about templates for the spots. "Template" is just a fancy word for pattern. Gives the makers an excuse to charge more for them. they're made in all shapes and sizes from any number of different materials. When used for applique, quilters trace around them so they know where to cut and stitch all the little pieces of fabric they miraculously turn into some pretty amazing stuff.

you've been using templates for all kinds of things since you were in kindergarten. maybe longer. you just didn't realize it. too busy having fun with them to worry about what they're called. which is a pretty smart way to operate, if you ask me.

vicki reno 04-04-2007 04:30 AM

I love it when Patrice says miraculously turn those little pieces into something! I call it a miracle if AI try to piece something and everything matches up! She makes it look EASY and I find it sooooo HARD!

b1pegasus 04-04-2007 03:52 PM

I like to thank Patrice for the leson and letting me go back to play. you made my day yesterday and I learned something new I love that..
thanks
By the way I would like to thank you all for the feedback It helps to hear from people that don't know you (unbias opion).

patricej 04-04-2007 04:53 PM

you're both very sweet. but remember - you don't get to see it until after i've fought with it, taken it apart, put it back together, and had to go rescue the machine from the garbage truck 'cause i threw it out in frustration.

susan s. 04-05-2007 05:30 AM

I did that to a Smith/Corona word processor. I actually threw it into the yard. Right out the front door. I don't have a temper!

I BELIEVE in Miracles  Patrice You just hit it. Speaking of Q's (here's one. (you all can determine for yourselves whether or not it is stupid). I have a Singer, an old ZIG ZAG it's almost 30 Yrs. old. I bought it new in 1979 While I was cleaning it the other day (& oil of course, don't forget the oil!!) I tried to determine how one might go about lowering the feed dogs for free motion quilting. In all these years it never occurred to me to do so. I thought I'd give free flow a try. WELL I couldn't see any way other than to remove them completely. If I can get the screws out that hold them in place. See I've been sewing since I was 10 and don't know how to lower the feed dogs. Any Old Sewing machine buffs out there who might know something?

Norah 04-05-2007 06:23 AM

Most of the older machines (at that age) can lower the feed dogs, but some of them came with a plate that will snap in place to cover the feed dogs. If not, there are ways to cover them with out taking them out.
We had quite a discussion about taht very subject. You can find it here.
