So, I just had to use up the other jelly roll of Nature's Chorus and the other half of the Moda Sugar jelly roll. This is from the same book, Jelly Roll Quilts. Very simple and quick, took 3 days to do. I haven't decided on borders yet but I have a lot of small off-cuts of the white and some of the large border. Thinking of cutting the border into squares and just doing a checkerboard with the solid white.
I used two strips sewn together to make the continuous prairie points for the pillow. I have more since it's a WOF strip so I'll make another pillow to use it on when I think of a different design. It has a soft, old-fashioned look to me though the colors are brighter. |
Super, Pam, lovely use of jelly rolls, and the pillow makes a great addition.
Very nice I love it. I Love the pillow sham too.

Pam
It's super I love the colours too - I am leaning more & more towards pink these days it must be an age thing LOL. I have 2 JR's that are the same design I want to use to make a quilt with I may have to see if I can get my hands on this book. Tisha |
Very neat and crisp. Love the pillow cover.
I have to ask, do you quilt them by hand or machine? You make so many so quickly! |
Pretty quilt!! Looks beautiful, love the pillow too. Boy you crank those quilts out girl!!!
its another masterpiece!!
That is really, really pretty!!! Is it for you, or a gift? It would be hard for me to give that one away! :-)
very pretty. Like the throw pillow.
Very pretty, Pam! It has such a warm, comfortable look to it, doesn't it? How many JR's did you need for the quilt?
What a pretty quilt. Great job.
Cute. Great colors.

Oh nice colors pam! The pillow is really the topper for it.
Thanks all. It's a simple little quilt but it's cheery. It's small enough to curl up with and not so much work that you don't want it dragged around by the grandkids.

There is a small dresser at my parents' house that I will be picking up that I can store them in. I don't think the quilts should be against wood so maybe I can line all sides of the drawers. |

Beautiful quilt, those fabrics are very subtle and delicate...and the pillow is a perfect accent to the quilt!!! You are soooo fast at making quilts :D :D :D

I like making the pillows, that's something I've done for years when I decorate. They can be soooo expensive to buy designer ones. I have lots of forms in different sizes and shapes so when I re-decorate I just recover them.
It's fun to try different things on something small and quick, I'm all about quick :P |
wow, Pam...did you come up with the idea for two color prairie points? that is fantastic! :D

I sewed them right sides together with a 1/4 seam allowance and ironed them flat. Because of the 1/4 inch seam I cut the sections at 2 1/4" wide instead of the full jelly roll width of 2 1/2". I realized after I did it and I had another two strips sewn together for something else that I should have folded the points on the outside, not the inside of the seam. Would have been a lot easier instead of trying to get the fold nestled up to the seam. And after going through sewing them to the piece I thought that doing a 1/8" seam on the strips and cutting the sections at 2 3/8" would be better. That leaves a little bit move room to fold the point down into the seam allowance. |
The pattern is simple but so dramatic. Beautiful and soft.

It is a soft, old-fashioned look and I really like it. The pillow is absolutely adorable too!
Beautiful quilt and pillow!
You are so talented!!!
Another goregous one - love the colors and your pillow sham is just so cute! Love it!
A window shade just like your pillow would be cute too. I love this. Nice job.Thx for sharing. Lura

WOW! Beautiful, Pam!
Very nice....love the colors...and pattern....:-)
Beautiful Pam - and fast too! I love the little pillow and your method for the two colour prairie points is a 'must copy'! LOL
awesome quilt. is that the framed 4 patch like i made my landlords? looks great
Copy away, I'm sure I'm not the first person to do it. I just didn't have wide enough strips so had to sew two together so why not two colors?
Bev, it's like the framed 4 patch but it is done in strips. One strip is the 4 patch blocks with a white JR strip between them then the next strip is the squares and rectangles sewn together. |
