Appliqued Christmas tree skirt completed!

Yay....this has been in progress for a year. Thanks for the helpful suggestions along the way. No pattern...the images were free internet drawings, with the exception of the gingerbread house-that was a block of the month pattern. I used Fairy Frost with silver for the backing-it has such a pretty subtle sheen to it. I attempted to "birth" the backing, but it was just too thick and did not lay flat, so I unstitched it and pin basted the backing on, SITD'd along the panel seams, and attached the faux-piping binding as usual. Finished diameter is 60". Can't capture the beading and sparkles in pictures, but I am pleased with this project-can't wait yo gift it to my youngest son and his family on Thanksgiving!

There is no opening, except the opening in the middle-they use an artificial tree, and they can just put the "trunk" through the opening when setting it up-the idea came from Paper Princess and her pretty Christmas Swoon skirt! |
Sew creative!
