I just finished this quilt for a baby boy. My daughter in law asked me to make it so she could give it as a baby shower gift.
I also made a matching gift bag but I am having trouble getting that picture loaded. Do you think I should sign it?? baby Boy charmer quilt baby boy charmer quilt back |
The pics are all there just fine. What a great gift set! You did a wonderful job.
yes, always label your quilts. Maybe put who it is for, who is is from, and then your name as quilter and the date.
Absolutely sign it and date it too. Lovely set.
I forgot to mention where I got the pattern.
I got it from "Keepsake Baby Quilts from scraps" Designed by/Julie Higgins |
Is it precious. And what a great idea for a bag to match.
That is just adorable. Love the idea of the gift bag. What a wonderful gift. By all means sign it perhaps with the date, who it's for, who it's from and then your name as quilter.

You did such a nice job. This is definately one of the nicest baby quilts I've seen. Cute train fabric.
Yes, you should put a label on it. It is just great!!
Yes, do sign and date it. I wouldn't make it too obnoxiously noticeable, but your beautiful work needs to be acknowledged. What a beautiful job you did. Love the bag for it too.
What a wonderful job!
Very very pretty quilt.
Very nice quilt, you should label it. Who it is for(baby), from(dil)and who made it(you) and the date or babies birthdate. Doesn't have to be a big label-I like them small.
I usually label all my quilts, even gifts if I am the one giving them. I might make up a label but not attach it and leave it to my daughter-in-law's discretion to label or not. Very nice job!
Could you please tell us - is Keepsake Baby Quilts from scraps the name of a book?

this thread made me have to just say this...I am a very giving person, but I too have been asked at times to "make" a gift for someone else to give away.... Really..if I'm making it, with my time and materials, how is it a gift from someone who had nothing to do with it? ? you should absolutely sign it, it's really a gift from YOU to the giver!
and the quilt is absolutely adorable by the way. ;-) |
Beautiful !!;-)
