Very nice quilt!!

jojosnana 10-10-2012 08:09 PM

I think it is older full for any age. Love your fabric.

The elephants are soooo cute!

labtechkty 10-11-2012 03:07 AM

love it...I think it would make a great child's quilt..

Kris P 10-11-2012 04:13 AM

I vote to put minky on the back and let a child love it to pieces. I'vestopped making 'baby'quilts per se. I feel they grow out of them too fast. I'd rather the quilts be something they grow into as opposed to grow out of in a couple of years.

hperttula123 10-11-2012 04:16 AM

I think it's gorgeous. I just love the fabric.

bibi 10-11-2012 04:17 AM

It is gorgeous. Either way it will be awesome.

SheriR 10-11-2012 04:54 AM

It's adorable. My daughters and all their friends would love LOVE it for their babies. Truly I may steal your idea if you wouldn't mind!

ditto! Great child's quilt.

TacoMama 10-11-2012 05:25 AM

Beautiful quilt, but I don't think it's for a baby. I love the colors. Great job.

solstice3 10-11-2012 05:26 AM

that is a really cute quilt

sparkys_mom 10-11-2012 05:39 AM

Wow! I love it. How about a compromise - wall hanging in child's room until they are old enough to use and take care of it. :)

pal 10-11-2012 06:59 AM

IMHO, if it's made of flannel I would give it to a baby. If it's made of polished cotton, I would hang it in my diningroom.
You've created a beautiful, elegant quilt. Way to go!

ItsJustMe 10-11-2012 08:31 AM

What a beautiful quilt! Probably not good for a baby, but would make a lovely wallhanging in baby's or young person's room/area.

DebbieG 10-11-2012 08:40 AM

stunning!!

llong0233 10-11-2012 12:54 PM

I love this quilt! The fabric is wonderful and I truly love what you did with the elephants; facing each other. This is suitable for a child, or wall hanging or whatever the lucky recipient decides to do with it!

wildyard 10-11-2012 02:57 PM

This quilt is sooooooo awesomeeeeee. Add a few borders and it will make a lovely throw for some lucky person or it will be an awesome wall hanging or baby blanket.

MimiBug123 10-11-2012 04:32 PM

It doesn't really look like a traditional baby quilt, but so many new mothers today are going with non-traditional themes. That being said, I love this quilt! I collect elephants and I love the texture, colors, and soothing feelings this evokes. Great job!

maryellen2u 10-11-2012 04:38 PM

I love your elephants! It all looks very regal to me!

javin22 10-11-2012 05:21 PM

Would be great for either one. Nice job!

Chris Anders 10-11-2012 06:07 PM

I agree your quilt is very beautiful and I am thinking more for an older child.

JBeamer 10-12-2012 12:08 AM

This is great. This would be fantasic as a child or baby quilt .

earthwalker 10-12-2012 12:23 AM

Very cool!. Stunning fabrics....brilliant elephants - what a great design. Sure it would make a great wallhanging...but I'm all for quilts to wrap people in:). The minkee would make it stunning and cuddly. Look forward to seeing the end result...and your next masterpiece.

Eliebelle 10-12-2012 03:10 AM

What a GREAT quilt!!! Any child would be delighted to sleep with it, haul it around and just generally love it!

Krystyna 10-12-2012 03:32 AM

Adorable. Nice for a child, but I'd like it too!

Patricia14 10-12-2012 05:41 AM

The elephants are adorable. I think it's a great baby quilt! :)

bonitagaye 10-12-2012 07:41 AM

Looks like a quilt to me! I bet it could still be wall hanging piece in 20 years if needed or wanted!

alwayslearning 10-12-2012 08:38 AM

I vote for wall hanging. I have just the place! It is terrific.

mumzer 10-12-2012 09:18 AM

What do you mean by fussy? that word means ribbons and lace or ruffels for a girl. You did a great job.I like your elephants, think they are cute.

vkasal 10-12-2012 11:10 AM

That is SO pretty!!!!!

trolleystation 10-12-2012 03:51 PM

Your quilt is wonderful.

sewmo 10-12-2012 04:58 PM

Why not a wallhanging in a baby's room? It is beautiful and would be more likely to stay that way and be enjoyed for years (good at all ages) rather than being spit up, etc! on and dragged around the floor.

I think it would be a good toddler (1-2 years old) quilt...baby quilts get washed too often.

I had a few teething problems along the way , unpicked a quite a few seams, got a headache but redid it lol. Anyway I have not sandwiched it yet as I am undecided about backing, I have some lovely blue and white minky fabric which would look pretty on the back for a child, its so lovelya nd warm, but if I decide its going to be a wallhanging the Minky is a bit of a waste, as I could just back it with white or blue, as it wont bee seen.
I cant decide if this quilt would look too fussy for a childs quilt or not? What do you think? I have put in a few pics below. Would love to know..I know the elephants are a bit crazy- they are going to be appliqued on today..the fabric is Free Spirit Karavan but I fell in love with it :D

To Irishphoenix; Piepatch said it so well. It's a beautiful quilt and a child would definitely love it! Don't waste it on a wall where no one can touch or love on it!:)

Hi bertieD and thanks for that..I have been so undecided and you are right..it would be a shame not to see it on some childs bed..I am still waiting for grandkids lol so think I am getting a bit broody. Quilts are meant to be snuggled into anyway..I think it would be nice on a wall but like you say ashame for it enver to be touched.thanks so much to everyone that took the time to reply, it really means a lot! The encouragement and positivity on this site is awesome

Luv Quilts and Cats 10-14-2012 02:47 PM

Lovely quilt! I can see it as a baby's quilt, so the minky would be a nice touch.

HillCountryGal 10-14-2012 02:50 PM

Wow! What a really nice quilt. I too would prefer to use it as a child's quilt. A person can have only so many wall hangings. And this is something that would be used, loved and cherished a long time.

sdeaaz 10-14-2012 03:58 PM

What about washing all that lovely embroidery, over and over and over again... I may consider wall hanging. It is beautiful.
