My Daughter is having a girl in May and she picked out this pattern from e-central.com. While I like the quilt, I really thought it just wasn't all that suitable for an infant because the batiks are a little dark. I think she'll probably get more use out of it when Gracie get's older. But my daughter wanted it because her crib set was a butterfly motif, so I just made her what she wanted. What's everyone's opinion? Good for an infant or not? I'm curious what people think!

It's beautiful, and who says you have to make things in 'baby' colours. I dressed my two girls in navy, dark red, and all sorts of darker colours very early on. My mum didn't like it, but they both had lots of very dark hair and I thought the darker colours suited them.

Wow, I love it, for baby, toddler, little girl - it's perfect and so beautifully done.

Infants like bolder colors, they are able to see them better.I think it is perfect! It will get more use than the traditional infant quilt :)

It is absolutely gorgeous...you did a wonderful job. Perfect for baby - they see bright colors. Their world shouldn't be pale pink or blue.

I was all about the bright/darker colors for my daughters. They had very little pastel colors when they were babies. So far they seem just fine ;) LOL! I think it is a beautiful quilt, perfect for a new baby, and I am sure your granddaughter will LOVE it!!

I never make baby quilts in "traditional" colors, so of course I love yours! Babies love bright bold colors and I am predicting this will be a favorite for many years!

slstitcher 04-26-2011 06:19 AM

So pretty, this will be a keepsake for Grace and be special because Grandma made it for her.

buddy'smom 04-26-2011 06:36 AM

Beautiful, I just love the color's and butterflys..

TerryQuilter 04-26-2011 06:45 AM

Now it's not just a baby quilt, it can be a toddler quilt, a tween quilt, etc. It's quite lovely. I don't use just pastels when I make my grandchildren baby quilts and they love them.
