I'm so glad this one is done. It's been a WIP for several weeks. It's literally hundreds of pieces. Probably like 300 pieces. It's a Paper Pieced pattern by Eileen Sullivan. I've also done the Iris http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-41433-1.htm and the Daffodil http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-38104-1.htm
I think this one is my favorite out of the three. I still need to finish removing the paper and quilt it up. I'll post more pics when I'm done. I left the scissors on it for scale. THe border is really a dark green, but looks black in the photo. |

Candace, they are all stunning; I like this one best, also, not just because of the bright tropical flowers, but they seem to look even more realistic than the iris & daffies. Do you choose the colors/fabrics?
I don't paper piece very well ... more of a challenge than you can imagine. (I have a hard time getting things going in the right direction, in general, not just PP) but now my curiosity is aroused about Eileen Sullivan so am about to do some on-line research. Lovely work! Thanks for showing us. |
After seeing this I want to learn to make one. It is beautiful.
|
Very very pretty!

I did go look at Eileen Sullivan's catalog. In addition to the 3 you've done, her English Roses, Poinsettias, and Dogwood Blossoms are enchanting. I'm still absolutely fascinated by your fabric color accuracy. Howdja do that?
|
Wow love it My favorite flower
|
wonderful artful
|
You did a great job! I can hardly wait to see it finished. Eileen's patterns are fun, aren't they? Especially when they are done, LOL.

I used some from my stash and visited my LQS to pick up some more green FQ's that I needed. I ended up buying more than I needed of course, to make sure I had the right colors. You know how it is. You need 3 FQ's and come home with 8. |
