My DH had to make a run to Lowes to replace some tools that were stolen. Bless his heart he had me on his mind while running the errand. While at Lowes he bought me a double scissor pack. He knew I had been struggling with my cheap pair which have become dull.

Now mind you, I have not finished my first top that I am working on but he has been so supportive.

After leaving Lowes he went to get a few things from Wal-Mart. While there he discovered two 6ft tables covered with bolts of fabric, each bolt had 5 yards and they were priced at $5.00 per bolt. He picked out 6 bolts and brought them home to me with the scissors. He had heard me complain (to no end) about Wal-Mart discontinuing their fabric the only quilting items my Wal-Mart carries is scissors, some thread and small cutting mats.

He was so excited when he returned home with all of it. And he called my co-worker's wife who is a quilter to let her know about the fabric as well.

I guess this makes up for loaning out my iron that still hasn't come home.

I am truly blessed.

My surprise gift from my DH.

When I went to my Walmart today to buy some of those, the cashier said that they couldn't be sold like that and had to be measured first. I showed her the price on them, so she asked someone else, and she said the same thing. I told her that I had bought them before at a different Walmart, but she wouldn't believe me, so I told her never mind, I didn't want them. Why can't they believe the customer? And that was so sweet of your husband.

Wow! I am so happy for you... and also for your husband. He must have felt so proud for finding this treasure, and perhaps a bit like Santa Clause giving it to you. Now if only my husband would take an interest. lolll.

I will admit he is a one of a kind and a keeper. And to think the longest estimate on our wedding day was that we would last 6 months! Each year I remind him of a few who we once again disappointed by surviving another year together. We just celebrated our 22nd Anniversary.

We are known for saying the same thing at the same time. I guess God gave me my soul mate this second time around.

Bernie942 09-20-2010 05:06 AM

Our Walmart had that sale going on too. Bought 6 "bolts" for $30.00. When we measured and averaged the price it was like less than $1.00 per yard. Hope they still have it next week.

mimee4 09-20-2010 05:51 AM

Your husband's choice of fabrics was great. He is a keeper for sure.
