If you cut the sashing the same length as your blocks:

Put the sashing on top of the block when you are sewing it to the block.

Ease the block to fit the sashing.

A little bit of fullness can be pressed out. (if it's only a little bit)

Machines without a walking foot tend to feet the bottom layer a bit faster than the top layer/

You aren't dumb - it's hard to put into words what is relatively easy to show by example.

Ah, so make the block fit the sashing, not the other way around? That makes a little more sense...

The problem with that is that I will have puckering happening...the other option I'm considering is trimming the blocks down to meet the sashing lenghts...that would cut off the poits of the stars, but it's better than puckering...or un-lined up sashing...

Maybe do just one or two and see what happens after pressing?

I honestly don't know how bad it will be. Maybe I'll take the suggestion of doing a few and seeing how it turns out... :shock:

Just to encourage you ... I have practiced this system a lot, and the puckering is so minimal after ironing that you would never know it was there!

Then I guess I'll have to try it and see how it goes...
