pattern calls for two more borders. I am not sure if it needs them but if I do what green for the small border?

PamB8s 05-13-2011 06:41 AM

Oh my goodness that is stunning, I say border.

bebe 05-13-2011 06:41 AM

show us the border u are thinking od putting on????

bj 05-13-2011 06:42 AM

Beautiful quilt! I don't think it needs borders, unless you just want it to be a little bigger. It looks pretty big already. I love your design and colors. :-D :-D

nabobw 05-13-2011 06:45 AM

Yes it is pretty big already

jmabby 05-13-2011 06:45 AM

Go with your preference, I always like a border

OKLAHOMA PEACH 05-13-2011 06:47 AM

I like at least the green border, great colors, love it.

MIJul 05-13-2011 06:48 AM

Here's another vote for borders. I think they frame the quilt nicely and give it a nice finished appearance.

MinnieKat 05-13-2011 06:48 AM

I like to have borders too ... I like the center green for the smaller inner border.

ssnare 05-13-2011 07:01 AM

I like both borders

hatchet 05-13-2011 07:01 AM

Yes, a border!! Borders take the most punishment and your quilt is soooooo beautiful I'd like to see it last forever or at least be easy to repair!! I always vote for a border!!

Teapots and Quilts 05-13-2011 07:05 AM

I'm thinking the green that you are showing at the bottom. It looks like it's color is in between the other two and matches really well.

labug 05-13-2011 07:06 AM

Stunning! I say on border.

QuiltE 05-13-2011 07:13 AM

You have a beautiful quilt and IMHO the double border would frame your masterpiece!

From what I can see, the green is different shades from top to bottom with the bottom being the middle shade, which would be my preference. Pops enough, but not too much. The darker one doesnt show enough, and the light one too bright ... though that could be totally different IRL.

And then the outer, yes the dark burgundy!

rushdoggie 05-13-2011 07:15 AM

I like the 2 borders myself, though it is a beautiful quilt and it looks pretty without it too.

quiltgran2 05-13-2011 07:16 AM

I vote for borders, both of them, as they seem to balance the whole look of the quilt better than without.

Prism99 05-13-2011 07:56 AM

Binding would be enough for my taste, but a border would look great too. I prefer the darker marbled green at the top for the border.

Ann912 05-13-2011 07:59 AM

Absolutely gorgeous quilt.

Mariposa 05-13-2011 08:00 AM

I vote for borders! Great way to finish off that lovely top! :)

This gets my vote as well. The two darker greens tend to blend in with the last row, while the lighter one will not.

I love old fashioned looking patterns with no borders, but this wonderful design will look more finished with the two borders.

carhop 05-13-2011 08:13 AM

The green as a border and use the brown for binding

Foxflower 05-13-2011 08:14 AM

I like the borders too....hard to decide which green though. Both would look great. Awesome quilt.

karenm36 05-13-2011 08:16 AM

Love this quilt! And yes, borders! My preference is actually for the darker green...but which ever you choose it will look really nice!

QuiltnNan 05-13-2011 08:16 AM

I don't think it needs borders. However, I'd be tempted to put a cream border next to the pieced border to make it stand out better.

Jammin' Jane 05-13-2011 08:17 AM

I vote for the green border...the meduim shade green.
Beautiful quilt!!!

TacoMama 05-13-2011 09:17 AM

Beautiful! What is the name of the quilt?

Sandee 05-13-2011 09:20 AM

I like it with the reddish color to be the last border. That is a BEAUTIFUL quilt!

I think it makes the center more fantastic

PaperPrincess 05-13-2011 09:53 AM

Love it, and I do think it needs unpieced borders pull it together.

Jan T 05-13-2011 09:55 AM

Yup, borders it is. Fantastic quilt, by the way.

Sewfine 05-13-2011 10:00 AM

Beautiful. I say add a border.

Jamiestitcher62 05-13-2011 10:17 AM

No border. I see your 7700 under the Janome cover. Don't you just love it?

Stunning quilt. Who does the pattern for that quilt, or is it your own?

TJDesigns 05-13-2011 10:58 AM

I like how you have it with all the green fabric in the picture and the red between them. Maybe you can sew a red square between them and use all three green for the border.

JJean 05-13-2011 11:15 AM

Wow! I love it!

Ripped on Scotch 05-13-2011 11:42 AM

I like the borders I think you should add them.

nabobw 05-13-2011 12:08 PM

Yes I do have the 7700 and I love it. The pattern came out of the April issue of the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. The designer is Bev Getschel

Nettie Phillips 05-13-2011 05:26 PM

Very pretty.

snicker dee 05-14-2011 12:20 AM

I vote for border. To me borders provide the framing to display the works of art ... which is our quilts

quilterella 05-14-2011 02:37 AM

Beautiful quilt. Of the choices, I would say the darker green for a border to frame your masterpiece.

alikat110 05-14-2011 02:41 AM
