I just finished this Christmas gift for my adult son. I didn't know I was making it until a few days before Christmas, so I've been working on it as much as possible trying to get it finished. The pattern is called Boxed Squares and can be found here. I made extra blocks to make a larger version.
http://www.maryquilts.com/boxed-squares/ I used most of two bali pops in the Capuccino colorway. Bali pops are like jelly rolls, each has 40 strips of batik fabric, 2.5" wide. It's machine quilted with a variegated Sulky thread called Milk Chocolate, and has a cozy flannel back. I want to keep it! |
oh, wow, I love that! It's simple but really really nice! I wonder if it would be as nice in another colour...
|
That's beautiful.
|
Oh! Sweet!! He's going to LOVE it!!
|
Wow! Of course you want to keep it....I would too! This is really stunning. Good job and you really worked this out in a hurry, geez. Another beautiful quilt that proves a pattern need not be complicated...let the fabric do the work. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone! :D

Great quilt! Perfect for so many reasons: Great fora gift to a man, but also for someone with a country decor or a very modern decor. I'm saving the pattern. (PS> Make yourself one, too!)
|
That is a beautiful quilt! I've been saving fabrics for this pattern too.

Wonder why I have a sudden craving for chocolate?
Beautiful quilt. Keep the picture handy--about once a month, somebody asks for a quilt pattern that is "manly". I think this fits the bill perfectly. Sue |

Thank you so much for that comment. I almost feel guilty sometimes for not taking the initiative to try doing harder patterns. I seem to be content with simple ones. I think I will claim that as my current motto " Let the fabric do the work ! " |
I just love what you have done with all the browns!!
|
