So, I'm working on a t-shirt quilt for DDIL. I spent a good deal of time on Sunday on hands and knees spreading this quilt out on the floor to create the sandwich and pinning it all together. Then yesterday I did some rearranging to make it possible to quilt it using my Singer 201-2. It will be my first attempt at free-motion quilting, so I plan to do a bit of practicing before working on the actual quilt.

When I came into the sewing room this morning, this is what I found:

Gracie made herself at home

Cute kitties!

litacats 02-15-2011 10:56 AM

are they Norwegians or Maincoons. either way they have certainly made themselves at home and by the look of them they are daring to move them on the pain of death.

quiltykitty 02-15-2011 10:58 AM

You should see me and my "helper" feline argue over who needs to work on the quilt. Sometimes, he will even swat at me or hiss. Guess he really likes the quilt in progress.

DebsShelties 02-15-2011 10:58 AM

Kitty looks so comfy

Flugiepoo 02-15-2011 11:44 AM

Sadiemae 02-15-2011 12:44 PM

They could be sisters!

dlspeed1 02-15-2011 12:54 PM

awwwwwwwwwww....:)

moonwork42029 02-15-2011 12:54 PM

I looked through my dinning room window (from the family room) and saw mine just strolling around looking at the new fabric I had gotten. I didn't let them inspect it timely I guess so they were making themselves at home.

After I made them get off, I noticed my mini seam ripper is missing too... still haven't found it 4 days later the ratfinks.

I just showed this picture to my 5 yr. old grandaughter and ask her if she knew who it is. She said "Moosey". We have a cat that looks just like yours and his name is Moosey.
Your quilt looks like it will be very nice.

spindreams 02-15-2011 02:18 PM

I think Gracie wants you to make her a quilt of her own. But then again, judging by that look, she already considers any quilt her own!

North Star Mama 02-15-2011 02:24 PM

Darling. She deserves to be there - Queen Grace.

Juliebelle 02-15-2011 02:37 PM

Well you did leave it out for her, so she took advantage too funny

vjengels 02-15-2011 02:39 PM

isn't cat hair considered a 'bonus'?

All my cats over the decades have done the same thing. They think you made a new clean bed for them. LOL I don't know what it is like to have a quilt without cat hair. Got to love those fur babies. :) Here is my fur baby, Cinder.

Aww, such pretty furbabies! Don't feel lonesome guys!! LOL

pigasus718 02-15-2011 02:56 PM

Can totally relate. It's just not a quilt without cat hair
In fact my Christmas tree skirt is still folded and lying in
a dining room chair because our Sophie has chosen it as her favorite place to sleep.
When I tried to put it away she threw a hissy fit...literally!!

sewnsewer2 02-15-2011 03:08 PM

 I know the feeling.

sewnsewer2 02-15-2011 03:09 PM

gaigai, I love your cat pic!

You got yourself a helper.

shawnemily 02-15-2011 03:39 PM

I know that with my cross stitch, we usually refer to it as a 'specialty fiber'. Guess that applies here too. As you can tell from my avatar. <------

That's the old man in my house - besides my husband. That is Boomer - although it has slowly changed to booger - and he was a rescue, just like everyone else in our house. He came from the shelter when he was 4 days old and I hand raised him. He is now almost 10yo.
