It is coming along fantastically! I really would love to make one of those some day... It is on my to do list but sadly not for this year. I need to catch up on everything else first!

I can hardly wait to see it finished!

Thanks for this tutorial. It seems pretty straight forward but I'm confused on one part---could you possibly post a close up of your quilt so I can see one specific window?
When sewing the window fabric into the diamond do you stitch each side separately with the ends remaining loose and at a point? That's what the pics look like.

I really want to do one of these. After doing 15 quilts and giving them all away, I want a special one for me and I think this one is it!

this one would probably take a long time

my goal is to make a Ishish Chain and a Log Cabin this year

I am using a 9" block like the one in the instructions. I am using a 2 3/4" block...I found that worked better for me. I'm not using batting...this gets heavy quick!

This is done on my machine, I'm not much of a hand sewer.

Thanks. Do you have to fold under the edges and iron the 2 3/4" center like on the 9" block? I read the tutorial you linked to, but now I'm fuzzy:> I think I'll have to read it again! I wonder if the batting would be a good idea though for warmth in the quilt?
