This started as a multi-class project @ the Viking Dealer in Sterling VA back in 2007. I don't do wall hangings, and wanted a quilt for my mother (queen size bed), so I got more coordinating fabric and started just adding borders until I got it big enough. Finally had it quilted this fall, and gave it to her @ Christmas. She really loves it!

Very nice quilt and very clever way to transorm a wall hanging into a bed quilt. I'm going to keep this idea in mind for myself. It's been bookmarked.

Wonderful job!! I also do not really do wall hangings as I prefer quilts. I have seen a few that loved though, and now I can buy them and do what you did!! :D It turned out beautifully. Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring!!

This is the center panel with the 2 borders that would have finished a wall hanging size. [ATTACH=CONFIG]64061[/ATTACH] Pattern called for 4 squares with pintucks, made with twin needles. [ATTACH=CONFIG]64062[/ATTACH] the center panel also had strips that had been gathered (no quilting inside these strips ). [ATTACH=CONFIG]64063[/ATTACH] |
