I adore foamboard insulation. Because i couldn't make structural changes, I lined the outer wall at the head of my bed in my old, old cottage several years ago and covered it with the widest quilt I had. Made a big difference in the warmth of the room art night in the winter and no one realized it was a utility advantage more than a design decision.

When I move I plan to make a headboard from fabric covered foamboard since I won't need the insulation. Doubling it as you show will make the headboard even more realistic! Thank you for sharing your great design! Just terrific!!

Very cool. I noticed you used plastic over the top. That would help the quilt slide easily, very cool.....And you did not even harm the table underneath.

Great set-up! I have one similar to that, but I like yours better. I left my machine turned the other direction. Thanks for sharing!
