I've used it for several years and it has worked well. Because I don't leave it up all the time, I wait until I have a few items to quilt, then set it up and quilt them all. That works well too because it keeps the momentum going.

Lovely job! I have a similar set-up, but do not use the machine that I had on my Grace frame which, like your new Brother, has the bobbin on the end. Instead, I bought a new machine that is as basic as I could get, but still has features I want, like needle down and adjustable needle position; it has the bobbin under the needle and my machine faces me. I've a separate piece of vinyl covered styrofoam in front of the machine; that piece is portable, so has that rubbery shelf liner on it's bottom to keep it in place. My set-up is on a huge desk that is up against the walls on back & one side and a shelf unit on the other side. That left the problem (for me) of my left side, where the quilt tends to fall off the table if there's nothing there to support it, so I bought a slick topped table (a kitchen supply item) that has locking wheels for that area; it is exactly the right size and exactly the height of the desk/styrofoam creation. My set-up wouldn't win any beauty contests, but it sure works well.

Thanks for sharing a great idea!!! I'd like to do this for my machine that sits on top of the table just for piecing!!!
