Christmas Tablecloth :)
2 Attachment(s)
Good Morning to everyone!
This is my third "quilt" although really it is only a pieced top, but I finished it this weekend! This was made for my mother's birthday present and the brown/tan pattern you see in the quilt is gingerbread men (which is my mother's favorite). I had never made a circular piece before and this really stretched my imagination! I used this pattern (http://www.unitednotions.com/fp_freebird.pdf) and I added 10 inches in diameter to better fit this table. I used math and made my own ruler out of foam board, and it worked beautifully! The center was the hardest part to add in, and it is nowhere near perfect, but I hand-appliqued the center. Thanks for looking, she loved it! |
Awesome! I also just started making circular quilts and am having fun with them. You did a great job and it's so Christmasy. I bet your mom loves it!

I love your top, it is delightful to look at. I made a circular Christmas Tree skirt in a similar way. you inspire me to make a Christmas table topper in this circular fashion. Thanks for the link.

How cute and festive, you did a great job figuring out how to make this pattern work for your mom, it lights up the room! It has a little flounce in the border that is reminiscent of a carousel.

Fabulous job! Thank you for sharing this project. I especially appreciated the fact that you made your wedge ruler out of foam board! I'm tempted to try this myself, but couldn't imagine buying a 25" wedge ruler and only using it for one project...
Wishing you & your lucky Mom the Merriest of Christmases! |
