What a good idea. That's a great looking quilt. Bet it will hold up to a lot of love and hard wear.

Finished size is 45" x 60". The seams were pressed flat and I used a herringbone stitch and stitched in the ditch to reinforce the seams. I then machine quilted diagonally across the squares. I just might make one for my bed since if the quilt is kid proof it might be dog proof.

Give your machine innards a good cleaning several times during the sewing and machine quilting process. The corduroy creates a lot of lint. With the next one I do I will use polyester thread in both the bobbin and needle. I used several colors and thread types and the cotton theads created more lint also.

I LOVE this! I'm very into frugality and this is what I call "richly frugal". It's beautiful and tactile, and I know he will love it!

I used some poly hi loft batting that I had for years and never opened. That is why the quilt is "puffy". The poly batting was sort of nasty to work with but it worked.Did not have enough Quilters Dream cotton pieces left over from previous projects.
